The book is a compilation of the notes of Sir Robert Reid that were made and compiled during his tenure as the Governor of Assam and are an attempt by the author to bring the invaluable work “History of the Relations of the Government with the Hill Tribes of the North-East Frontier of Bengal” up to date as far as it touches on the frontier districts of Assam.
